3 Months Later

Wow, has it really been three months since my last post on here. Yup,

I guess it has! Well, I guess I need to tell about the last few months

and then also try to post on a more regular basis.

For starters, I have settled in quite a bit in San Francisco over

these past few months. I'm really enjoying my job at UCSF and my

co-workers. The job brings new challenges for me daily, and I'm

learning how to navigate through the bureaucracy of a large academic

institution (UCSF Medical Center, UCSF School of Medicine, and UCSF

Medical Group). There are so many different entities yet all the same

company...and then of course the fact that I am a prisoner of the

State of California ie. the University of California. I've found that

many people are not big fans of Mr. Arnold, our great governor. People

think he is too conservative - meaning the people of San Francisco are

just a tad bit liberal. Who would have thunk it?

On to other things... Cristi came to visit me Aug. 11th thru the 16th.

Wow, what a great time! This was the first time I was able to explore

San Francisco with my love! We had a great time just doing the normal

touristy things... We went to see the Museum of Modern Art with the

Tuttle exhibit. We went to eat at Ben Wah, my new favorite Chinese

food spot. We also ate at Panta Rei in the North Beach area - Little

Italy. One of the best parts of Cristi's visit was our trip to Napa

Valley. Napa Valley, aka Wine Country, was just amazing seeing all the

beautiful vineyards and so many different wineries. We also stopped at

a few, taste some great wine, ate a picnic lunch, and just enjoyed a

day under the sun. We also took an afternoon to visit Pier 39 (you

have to say hello to the sea lions while at the pier) and later spent

a few minutes with our feet in the sand! All in all, it was just great
