jason grimsley

Jason Grimsley

Let me start with some good news first. The Phils won their 4th in a

row tonight. Ryan Howard homered AGAIN, he's third in the league in

the homers. Forget Jim Thome (though I loved him) Ryan Howard is the

real deal. The other Ryan, Ryan Madson, pitched a stellar game, giving

the Phillies a chance to win. The Phils offense has picked it up

recently as well, with Sal Fasano and Jimmy Rollins both homering. The

Phils now stand at 3 games back from the Mets with their game against

L.A. going on now. I'm excited for the games next week against the

Mets when we may have a chance to gain a lot in the standings.

Now with the bad news. Jason Grimsley has been caught using HGH (Human

Growth Harmone), a form of 'steroids' that is undetectable by current

drug testing standards in the MLB. Not only has Grimsely supposedly

been caught red-handed, but he also has apparently given up the names

of many players he played with. The teams he played with in his now

finished career (the Diamondbacks released him) include the Yankees,

Royals, Indians, Orioles, and Phillies. Yes steroids in all forms are

bad for baseball and it needs to be fixed. I haven't really felt bad

though about past players who have been admitted steroid users. I have

yet to have the feeling that I have been cheated by players of the

'90s who may have actually been cheaters. Here's the catch though, now

apparently Grimsley could have implicated my Phillies of the early

'90s into steroid allegations. That really pisses me off. There's

almost nothing I love more in sports than my '93 Phillies and everyone

should know why. If I were to find out that any of my lifelong

favorite players from 1993 were actually cheaters it would be the

worst baseball travesty that could ever happen. I don't know if I

would be able to forgive baseball.

I still love the guys from that team and I think they were the

greatest without any steroids or illegal boosts, but if it turns out

that they were illegal shit will hit the fan and baseball will be in

trouble.

Bottom line: baseball needs to clean itself up now and find all the

loopholes of the cheating system. More importantly though baseball

players need to have some class and learn to play the game without.
